The Founder: Kanika Sharma

Meet Kanika, the visionary founder and director of The Yogic Life. Her journey with yoga began at a young age of 7–8, even though no one around her practiced it. Drawn to the practice from early on, Kanika followed this inner calling, allowing yoga to gradually become an integral part of her life.
Kanika’s passion for yoga led her to begin learning through books and self-study at an early stage, eventually earning her first teaching certification in 2016. Over the years, she has learned from many respected teachers and mentors, continuously deepening her understanding of the practice.
Her interest in wellness extends beyond yoga. She is a certified Karateka with five years of training and a certified mountaineer who has undertaken multiple alpine-style expeditions in the Himalayas. Kanika believes in continuous learning and consciously explores a new skill every year—ranging from art and music to farming and surfing.
With a degree in engineering and a successful 9-year career in the semiconductor industry at leading MNCs, Kanika eventually chose to follow her deeper calling. This led to the creation of The Yogic Life—an offering rooted in her belief that yogic philosophy can guide individuals toward a healthier, more balanced way of living. Through her own practice, she has experienced a sense of peace and clarity, which she now shares to help others live with harmony regardless of external circumstances.
Since November 2016, Kanika has been teaching both online and offline, reaching students across the globe through retreats, workshops, edtech platforms, and fitness apps. She has also completed several advanced courses in yoga and meditation, further strengthening her foundation as a teacher.
Her classes are known for building strength while creating space for awareness and inner focus. With attention to detail and thoughtful guidance for both body and mind, she offers an enriching and transformative experience. Her warm and compassionate presence creates a safe space for students to explore, grow, and begin their own journeys of self-discovery.
Beyond yoga, Kanika does not limit herself to labels. She continues to explore diverse pursuits such as skiing, surfing, cycling, skating, and more—constantly expanding her horizons. Her curiosity and love for learning inspire others to step beyond boundaries and embrace life fully.
